Part-time Payroll Clerk

About Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Part-Time Payroll Entry Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately entering and maintaining payroll data, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing. This role is perfect for someone who is meticulous, organized, and looking for part-time work in a supportive and flexible environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter and verify payroll data, including hours worked, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and update changes as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues and discrepancies.
  • Assist with payroll audits and reporting as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of payroll information.
  • Perform other accounting duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in HR, accounting or related field a plus.
  • Proven experience in data entry or payroll processing, preferably in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Availability to work [specify hours/days, e.g., 20 – 25 hours per week, flexible schedule].

Working Conditions

Physical Demands

  • Sitting, standing, stooping and bending.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools and to handle other office equipment.
  • Ability to drive/operate a vehicle.
  • Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities daily/weekly/monthly may occur for short periods of time in a seasonal temperature-fluctuating environment.
