Commercial Project Manager

About Position

The Project Manager is responsible for the budget and delivery of all aspects of the audio/visual system scope running multiple projects, ranging from preconstruction services through construction installation to complete system turnover. The project manager takes ownership of the project once contract/client approval is delivered from account management to operations.  This role will interact, train, mentor and perform with multiple design solution disciplines, project management on multiple levels, and interface with internal and external customers/manufacturer partners regularly to provide the highest level of customer services and delivery to our client partners.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible and owns the project installation budget, delivery, preconstruction and project management activities, including but not limited to the below tasks:
  • Liaison between Sales, Design, Project Lead and Client once the project has been approved by the client and processed through the system.
  • Communication conduit for clients, account manager, leadership and all internal/external resources and stakeholders.  Daily and weekly communication requirements for all projects.
  • Review scopes of work (SOW) specifications, plans and control code to deliver within budget, cost-effective systems solutions acting as a subject matter expert throughout the project.
  • Devise procurement strategies, schedule and delivery timelines.
  • Understand and adhere to installation budgets and costs.
  • Attend all construction meetings.
  • Implement project schedules for each project to maximize financial and resource performance, mitigate risk and complete according to project schedules, milestones and timelines.
  • Evaluate and coordinate subcontractor needs and performance.
  • Coordinate and facilitate project change orders which may also include working with design on value engineering and change order proposal documentation.
  • Allocate and work with the Install Mgr. on the schedule of installation resources as needed.
  • Demonstrate and perform as job site leadership in a professional manner at all times.
  • Schedule, facilitate and document project kickoff meetings (KOM) internal and external.
  • Create and develop work breakdown structures (WBS) for installation teams.
  • Ensures prompt response to all customer and company initiated installation issues.
  • Responsible for all project documentation and communication timely.
  • Inform and keep leadership abreast of any situation around client dissatisfaction, project financial overruns and deliverables not met.
  • Responsible for tracking and physical inventory control of equipment and misc. materials/consumables, as well as returns for the project.
  • Identify and solve issues that will impact or increase the level of customer service, profits to company and employee growth/development.
  • Work with other PMs and Ops leadership on technical resource weekly schedule.
  • Follow, practice, encourage and make safety a priority on all job sites, driving and within Texadia Systems and client facilities.
  • Ensure that technical resources and subcontractors understand and are trained/aware of and follow all safety expectations at all times.
  • Post project walkthrough and training with client communicating system performance and functionality.
  • Assistance with the physical installation of products/services when needed.
  • Completion of closeout documentation to include invoicing timely, client close out email, redlines to CAD team for final updates and making sure project folder has all correspondence, code, drawings and documentation.

  • Microsoft Office experience – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

Education, Certification and/or Experience

Minimum high school diploma – Audio, Electronics or IT degree preferred.  PMI/PMP a plus and will be required as a training goal if not completed.  Preferred candidates should have prior experience completing the technical installation of audiovisual systems, including equipment rack fabrication, site preparation, termination and calibration of audio and video equipment, and implementation of control systems along with leading projects onsite throughout the project life cycle.

CTS, CTS-I or CTS-D – NSCA or Cedia equivalent.  Additional training on control systems or other certifications by manufacturer or product a plus.  Technical knowledge and proficiency in basic MS office applications, including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Push/Pull materials/tools (Example – carts and wheeled assistance without additional personal assistance)
  • Weather conditions consist of in and outside in all seasons to include: Wet, dry, cold, hot and possible ice/snow.
  • Sitting and/or standing for extended periods.
  • For safety reasons, dexterity and use of both hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools and to handle other office equipment.
  • Ability to climb a ladder with heights above 20ft in the air, scaffolding (multiple stories) or transported by lifts.
  • Ability to drive/operate a vehicle.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions while physically moving equipment from warehouse to vehicle and from vehicles to warehouse. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places while obtaining material by ladder from a several story shelving unit. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
