4 Steps for a Rocking Home Audio System

4-steps-for-a-rocking-home-audio-system

The days of installing a complete home audio system and having it cost as much as your home are a thing of the past. Home audio systems have become much more affordable as technology has improved, allowing for people with various budgets to find a system that works for them.

With the price issue out of the way, there are a lot of other considerations: What equipment do you need? What makes one speaker better than another? Where do you install the speakers for optimal sound? We’ve put together some steps to help you understand the answers to these questions.

1. Digital-to-Analog Converters

Whether you’re streaming from Pandora, your iTunes account or a good old-fashioned CD, the signal will need to be converted from digital to analog. In order to do this, you’ll need to have what’s called a DAC (digital-to-analog converter). The quality of the DAC in your system can make a difference in the sound reproduction, so make sure to avoid a low quality DAC. Luckily, it’s not difficult to find a decent one at a pretty low cost.

2. Speakers

Unless you’re an audio technician, it can be hard to tell what makes one speaker better than another. They are all made of essentially the same parts, so the best way to tell is to test them out with your own ears. While quality does matter, the decision comes down to personal preference.

3. Amplifiers

Digital amp or analog? That is the question. Many audio junkies still prefer analog amplifiers to digital, but when it comes down to it, digital amps are more efficient. They also give off less heat and won’t distort your signal as much.

4. Installation

Placement of speakers can make a huge difference in sound quality and overall speaker performance. It can be difficult to determine what the best layout is for your space. The ultimate goal is to have an even distribution of sound throughout the room. This is where our experts come in.

At Texadia Systems, we want you to get the most out of your home audio system. Let one of our skilled audio technicians help you install a system that will really rock.
