Control4 X4: Get More Creative Control with the Latest OS Upgrade

Putting More Control in the Homeowner’s Hands

If you live in a Control4 household, you’re in luck.

Control4 recently unveiled its newest operating system, X4, which brings newfound customization options to your C4 interface. Plus, if you’re an Apple fan, X4 deepens Control4’s integration with Apple products.

Here’s all you can expect when you upgrade your Control4 system to X4.

A Fresh, New Look

As has been the case with every Control4 operating system, the new X4 interface offers a more modern, fluid design on screen. The revamped home screen centralizes your Favorites and Media Sessions front and center with a Quick Actions bar at the top. Quick Actions can include comfort, lightning, audio—whatever you want to have quickly accessible.

Use Control4 in more than one home? In the home screen’s top left corner, the Property Selector makes it easy to switch between properties. On the left side, a minimalist sidebar is where you’ll navigate to different rooms or devices.

More than any other version of Control4, X4 lets you customize the home screen with the exact widgets and buttons you want.

Create Your Own Automations

Traditionally, creating complex automations required an integrator’s help. But X4 now gives more creative control to the homeowner.

X4’s new Routines feature allows users to automate technology on schedule, with a Routine Timeline to view upcoming automations. For example, lights can be scheduled to adjust at sunrise and sunset, activating your preferred lighting settings where and when you desire. Unsure where to start with Routines? The Routine Gallery offers a list of pre-set automations that you can adopt in any room or zone.

Where you previously relied on an integrator like us to create automations, the power is in your hands now!

Control4 + Apple

Apple and Control4 devices merge even further in X4, becoming one synchronized experience. Control4 now seamlessly integrates with iPhones, Mac computers, and even Apple Carplay to launch Control4 scenes directly through Siri or the iPhone control center.

Before X4, Siri did not directly integrate with Control4. If that held you back from adopting Control4, let it be known that those days are over!

How to Get X4 in Your Home

Control4 X4 replaces current OS 3.4.2 systems and is available now through certified Control4 dealers. If you live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Texadia Systems has been the highest-ranked Control4 Diamond Dealer for four years in a row.
