2016 AV Trends

2016-av-trends

Technology is constantly changing, so it can be difficult to keep up with all of the latest gadgets and gizmos available. In an effort to help you catch up, here are three of the top audiovisual trends this year that we’re most excited about:

Internet of Things

An ongoing project since 1999, the Internet of Things (IoT) has gained a lot of momentum in the past few years and has evolved rapidly in 2016. So, what is it? The simplified definition is the connection between electronic devices and the internet.

The goal of the Internet of Things is not only to connect people with other people; it also aims to connect people with things, and things with other things. More and more devices are being made with Wi-Fi capabilities, making this goal easier to obtain.

Interactive Screens

With the popularity of smart phones and tablets, people have become so used to touch screens that using a mouse almost seems foreign. New technology and the use of POE (Power Over Ethernet) is making it easier for businesses to employ interactive screens, which can reduce the amount of staff needed and increase automation. Interactive screens can also assist with connectivity and AV integration solutions in your home.

USB Type C

USB cables have been gradually shrinking, but there are still a variety of shapes and sizes that computers, smart phones and other devices require. We can now say goodbye to all of them.

The USB Type C connector has been designed not only to transfer data but also with audio and video capabilities. In the very near future, the goal is for all devices to use this one USB type, ridding us of furiously trying every type of USB cord to find the right fit for our devices.

These are just a few of the current trends in audiovisual technology, but the neat part about all three is that they share a common goal: making your life easier and increasing your connectivity!

At Texadia Systems, we strive to do the same by evaluating your needs and finding AV solutions for your home or business that make your life run more smoothly. Contact one of our experienced AV technicians today to learn more.
