Texadia Systems Donates and Raises Over $10K for North Texas Giving Day
After Hurricane Harvey caused widespread destruction along the Texas coast and disastrous flooding in Houston, our team saw that the need for help in our community is great. Many of the people dislocated from these areas have come to North Texas and the Dallas area to stay in shelters or to start over after losing everything.
At Texadia Systems, we believe in giving to our community and helping those in need. So we are proud to announce that we recently sponsored North Texas Giving Day, donating and raising $10,550!
North Texas Giving Day is an annual 18-hour online fundraiser for local nonprofit organizations. The event is put on by Communities Foundation of Texas. Their goal is to raise awareness and support for nonprofit organizations in North Texas.
North Texas Giving Day is actually the largest community-wide giving event in the world. Since 2009, North Texas Giving Day has raised $195 million, collecting money from people in all 50 states and 40 different countries to help nonprofits in North Texas.
This year North Texas Giving Day raised a record setting $39.3 million, topping last year's already impressive $37.3 million.
Susan Swan Smith, Chief Giving Day Officer for the Communities Foundation of Texas responded to this outpouring of support by saying:
“Each year, it seems impossible to top the year before. And yet, the amazingly generous people of North Texas have stepped up to do even more for the incredible nonprofits across this region. It is such a privilege for us to experience that first-hand.”
Because of Hurricane Harvey, this year more than ever the need in our community was great. North Florida Giving Day raised $370,000 (1,775 donations) for the Mass Care Task Force and CFT’s Relief and Recovery Fund. The Mass Care Task Force is a joint effort of many agencies that helps evacuees in shelters in our region and others.
Texadia Systems would like to express our sincere gratitude to Communities Foundation of Texas’ and all of the amazing nonprofit organizations in North Texas. Thanks for all you do to help our community!
