Wireless technology has been part of our everyday lives for years now with innovations like Netflix, Hulu and Apple TV, but it’s been slower to move into the business world.

However, the demand for wireless systems has grown with the implementation of BYOD (bring your own device) for presentations and business meetings.

5 Simple Ways to Improve Your Home Office

5-simple-ways-to-improve-your-home-office

As technology continues to improve, work-from-home jobs are becoming much more prevalent and popular. It sounds fun and easy when you’re stuck in a corporate office all day, but working from home can bring it’s own set of challenges.

Here are five tips for creating the perfect home office:

New Year, New Gym AV Equipment

It’s a new year, which means resolutions are a top priority. Many people have vowed to lose weight, exercise more or get healthier, leading to a surge in new gym memberships.

What better time to evaluate your fitness center’s AV equipment?

Video Walls: They Aren’t As Easy As They Look

video-walls-they-aren-t-as-easy-as-they-look

Video walls are popping up everywhere. They can range in size from fairly small (like the new fast food menu panels) to quite massive (like something you’d see in Time Square).

While installing a bunch of screens on a wall may not seem all that difficult, there can be quite a few challenges that arise.

4 Tips for Designing a Whole House Audio System

4-tips-for-designing-a-whole-house-audio-system

Whole house audio solutions are becoming increasingly popular as technology is advancing and becoming more affordable. Designing one, however, can be quite a challenge.

If you sit down and plan out what you want and how you want to accomplish it, you’ll be much happier with the finished product. Here are four main factors to consider when designing your whole house audio system.

AV Trends to Watch for 2017

av-trends-to-watch-for-2017

The world and everything in it is ever-changing, but technology arguably changes faster than ever. Even if you’re a tech guru or an AV professional, it can be difficult to keep up with the rate of change. Popular technology from 20 years ago is most likely obsolete at this point (VCR, anyone?).

So, if you’re feeling lost in the whirlwind, here are four popular AV trends that you will be seeing a lot more of in the coming year.

Top AV Products for Conference Rooms

If you walk into a business meeting and the guy in charge of AV comes in pushing a cart with an oversized and outdated overhead projector, you’ll probably want to turn and walk back out (as you should).

A company’s approach to technology and innovation is a huge part of their overall image.

The appearance of your conference room and the AV capabilities it has are what will either draw people in or make them run to the next competitor.

3 Ways Home Automation Simplifies Your Life

3-ways-home-automation-simplifies-your-life

Automation used to be something that only businesses could benefit from, but now it’s become attainable for homeowners too. It has also expanded from merely controlling lights and air conditioning remotely to accessing anything electronic in your home. (Even your electrical outlets can be “smart”!)

LED – Get Past the Sticker Shock

The current talk on LED display costs are still at the “it’s a little pricey” stage.  But is it too expensive?  The answer is No.  Are you really weighing the pros and cons of this spectacular product?  Have you been given all the information to make an informed decision?   There are hard conversations that need to take place before you decide on digital display signage and technology.

Texadia Team Members Help Sponsor a Heart Felt Event

Texadia had an opportunity last night to donate and take part in a spectacular event for the children at Focus on the Future School for Autism - http://focussped.com/. Texadia and other companies occupied multiple suites at the Embassy Suites Dallas near the Galleria. We decorated the door making it a fun way to “knock” and say “Trick or Treat”. The children were able to walk around the hotel knocking on doors and have a Halloween celebration in a safe environment. We had candy and stickers to pass out, plus a pumpkin and bat decorating station for the kids to create their own jack-o-lantern.

There were special guests; Rowdy, Dallas Cowboy Mascot, Higher Hopes balloon artist, David Rollins with the Seattle Mariners, Ty Washington with Daytona Tortugas plus additional games and activities.

Some of these children Trick-or-Treated for the first time in their lives. The children as well as the parents were so excited at the opportunity.

Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by impaired social interaction, verbal and non-verbal communication, and restricted and repetitive behavior. Parents usually notice signs in the first two years of their child's life. These signs often develop gradually, though some children with autism reach their developmental milestones at a normal pace and then regress.

Brenda M. Batts, Ph.D., Director for the school, was overwhelmed with joy. She, the teachers, and staff all dressed up with the kids and walked throughout the hotel together. You can see the proud dedication these amazing heroes have on the children’s lives. We can’t say enough about the school and what they are doing to help these children and their families literally “Focus on their Future”. Preparing the students and their parents for day-to-day real life events that we all take for granted as normal tasks.

Focus on the Future Training Center is an accredited and highly regarded private school in Plano, Texas for students, ages 3 to Grade 12, with Autism and other developmental disorders. They offer some of the best Autism early intervention in the country, as well as unique individualized curriculum featuring Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Music instruction.

What Type of AV System is Right For Your Home?

what-type-of-av-system-is-right-for-your-home

When contractors are building a home, their job is to make sure everything is connected the way it should be. For example, they check to see that the plumbing and HVAC ductwork are done right so that the new owners are satisfied.

One thing that is often overlooked, though, is the audio and video system options as the house is being built. If seamless sound and video are important to you, the best time to incorporate those things into your home is when it’s being built or renovated.

Let’s face it, though, most of us live in a house that’s already built and aren’t planning to do a major gutting any time soon. So what type of whole-house AV system is right for you? Let’s look at some options.

What Does Quality Mean?

what-does-quality-mean

Are we setting expectations of what Quality means to our teams? Do they know what Quality means to the client?

These are good questions and ones that leadership ponder every day. Especially when you don’t deliver to the level you or your clients imagine. The next question always become…Why?
